Solid Thristle

Solid Thristle is a lilac solid from the Tilda Basics range, made to support printed fabrics: in a quilt it works for backgrounds, block frames, borders and backing, where a print would compete with the main motifs. The cotton weave is firm and cuts and sews cleanly, even in small pieces.

Beyond quilting it is handy for Tilda dolls and soft animals, cushions, pouches, bags and details such as piping and bindings. It can be washed at up to 60 °C, so pre-washing before cutting is worth the trouble, especially alongside pale fabrics. If you need long strips for borders or backing, choose one of the larger cuts.
