Solid Toffee

Solid Toffee is a warm plain shade, somewhere between caramel and light tan, part of the Tilda basics made to go with the printed collections. In a quilt it gives the prints room to breathe: backgrounds, sashing, borders, the back of blocks. It has the soft handle typical of Tilda cottons, easy to cut and pleasant to sew by hand as well as by machine.

In creative sewing this tone is often used for doll bodies and hair, for baskets, bags and accessories, and for the 'faux leather' parts of soft animals and decorations. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; for long strips or a quilt backing, choose one of the larger cuts.
