Solid White

Solid White is the plain white in the Tilda range of solids, made to sit beside the printed collections without competing with them. It is the classic background for patchwork blocks, where it makes flowers and prints stand out, and it works just as well for sashing, borders, cushion backs and any part that needs to stay neutral.

Being a solid, it suits projects where the quilting itself should show: stitched lines are far more visible than on a print. It is also used for the bodies of Tilda dolls and animals, or as a base to colour and stamp. Pre-wash it before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; for long strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
