Choo Choo Train

A colourful train with animals on board, designed as a birth sampler: along the bottom you stitch the baby's name, weight and date using the alphabet and numbers supplied with the chart. It makes a classic gift for a christening or a new arrival, and the soft colours suit a nursery wall.

The work is counted cross stitch on the even weave of Aida, with a little backstitch for the outlines and French knots for the details; the threads come already sorted on an organiser, so there is no hunting for numbers. You will also need a hoop or frame and small scissors, while the frame shown is not included.
