A blackbird singing in a daisy meadow, a tree in blossom overhead and a red tractor climbing the fields beyond: the scene is built up by laying felt shapes onto the pre-printed fabric and securing them with hand stitching, which also adds the branches, the grasses and the details of the plumage.
It is a creative sewing project that suits newer stitchers too, since the stitch diagram shows every stitch used and the cottons come already sorted by colour. The embroidery hoop is included, so the finished piece stays mounted and is ready to hang. All you need to add is a small pair of scissors and, if you like, card or glue to tidy the back.
