Description

Hannah Dale's artwork for Wrendale Designs shows a polar bear on the move with her cub curled up on her back. The background comes already printed with blue speckles, suggesting falling snow, so the stitching is all in the two animals and their soft shading of white, grey and sand.

It is worked over counted threads on Aida, with a few fractional stitches for the softer outlines and backstitch for the eyes and muzzle: a good choice if you have a project or two behind you. The cottons come sorted by colour on the organiser, so there is no untangling to do. You only need a hoop and scissors, plus a frame for the finished piece.
