A greetings card to stitch and then send or hand over in person. The penguin chick, drawn by Hannah Dale, is worked on Aida with a speckled printed background that suggests falling snow, while the lettering is stitched in metallic gold thread. The Lana thread gives the penguin's body a soft, woolly look.
Everything you need is in the kit, including the triple-fold card and envelope: the finished stitching is held in the card aperture with Velcro, so no sewing is needed. Beyond the kit you only need small scissors and, if you like to keep the fabric taut, a little hoop. A project for a couple of evenings, and a good first try at speciality threads.
