An elephant sheltering its calf beneath its trunk, worked in soft greys with warm orange touches on the ears: a design from Lanarte's Animal Collection, with a tall narrow shape that suits a long wall or the space beside a door.
Counted cross stitch is worked by counting the threads of the fabric, usually over two threads of evenweave, so this fine weave gives plenty of detail and shading. The threads come ready sorted on the organiser, so the right colour is easy to find. A hoop or frame and a small pair of embroidery scissors are useful additions; the picture frame is not included and can be chosen once the stitching is finished.
