A richly coloured portrait worked entirely in full cross stitch: the face and the joined hands call for care with the shading, while the costume and headdress are stitched in clearer blocks of colour. The large-square chart makes the busiest areas easier to follow.

The kit holds everything needed for the stitching, threads included and already sorted on the organiser; the frame is not included, and neither are hoop and scissors. For a piece this size a large hoop or a square frame is handy. Once finished, the embroidery looks its best in a plain frame with a light mount.
