A full-blown rose in every shade of pink, surrounded by green leaves and small purple berries, with a stitched lilac border closing the composition. The natural linen ground is left bare and lights up the petals, while the long stitches shape the finer stems.
Linen with 10 threads per cm is usually worked over two threads with one strand of stranded cotton, and the colours come ready sorted on the organiser, which helps a great deal with a palette this wide. You will also need a hoop or frame to keep the work taut. The frame shown in the photo is not included: the finished piece can be framed or made up into a cushion.
