A bunch of garden flowers in a glass jar on a sunlit windowsill: Willem Haenraets' artwork has the soft, washed tones of a watercolour, worked in half cross stitch for the background and full cross stitch for the flowers in the foreground.
The linen is stitched over the counted threads, with one or two strands of stranded cotton depending on the coverage you prefer; the colours come ready sorted on the organizer, so the chart is easy to follow. You will also need a hoop or frame and a small pair of embroidery scissors. The frame shown in the photo is not included: once finished, the piece is best laced and framed with a pale mount.
