Description

A small bird resting on a stem among sprays of lilac and large purple blooms, with a white butterfly and a few bees completing the scene: a botanical-style nature design signed MB in the lower corner. The flowers are shaded with many tones, which explains the wide palette supplied.

The design is worked in cross stitch over two strands of stranded cotton on the Aida, while outlines and fine details are finished in back stitch and long stitch. The frame is not included: a hoop or frame to keep the fabric taut and good light are both worth having. Given its size it is a long project rather than a difficult one, and makes a handsome picture once framed.
