Mystic butterfly garden

A flower garden where three blue-winged butterflies settle among yellow peonies, pink roses and daisies: a tall design with soft colour shading that gives depth to the petals. It is worked in counted cross stitch following the chart, with a few long stitches for stems and finer details.

The kit holds everything needed to stitch, threads included; you only need scissors, a hoop or frame and, once finished, a picture frame. Lugana at 5 stitches per cm is usually worked with two strands of stranded cotton and its smooth weave shows the shading well. The format suits a framed picture for the wall.
