A flowering branch with large pink roses, green foliage and golden sprigs, designed by Coraline Bäcker. The shading of the petals comes from a wide palette, so it helps to sort the threads onto the organiser before starting and to work colour area by colour area.
The design is worked in counted cross stitch on linen, over two fabric threads: the result is finer and softer than Aida, though counting takes a little more care. A frame is not included, nor is a hoop, which is useful to keep the linen taut. The square format suits a wall picture, mounted with a mount board after a gentle wash and pressing face down.
