Description

A bunch of wild flowers arranged in an enamelled jug, with butterflies and a small snail among the leaves: one of Marjolein Bastin's best-known designs, signed 'MB' in the bottom right corner. It is worked in counted cross stitch on evenweave, usually with two strands of stranded cotton for the crosses and one strand for the back-stitched outlines.

This is a large piece with a good number of colours, so some experience with counted charts helps, as does a hoop or frame, which is not included. The frame shown in the photograph is not part of the kit: once finished, the embroidery can be mounted and framed with a mount, like a small picture for the home.
