A country picnic drawn by Marjolein Bastin: two mice in flowered dresses lay out cake and strawberries beside a wicker basket, while a ladybird creeps towards the edge of the cloth. The design is worked in counted cross stitch on the Aida supplied, with a few long stitches and back stitch for outlines and finer details.
The generous size and twenty-nine shades call for some patience, but the large-square chart is easy to follow even with limited experience. You will also need a hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors; the frame shown is not included and should be chosen once the stitching is done.
