A picnic in the grass, with the little mice busy laying the table: a gentle scene in soft blues, pinks and natural shades, straight from Vera's illustrated world. The evenweave is stitched with one strand of stranded cotton over two threads, which gives a fine, even finish, while the back stitch outlines pick out the smallest details, from the china to the ladybird's antennae.
Everything needed for the stitching is in the pack: you only need to add a hoop or frame, small scissors and a frame for mounting. Given the size it is a long project rather than a difficult one, so it also suits stitchers with just a few pieces behind them. Once finished it looks at its best framed, perhaps with a pale mount.
