Pink Silk Dahlia

A floral composition by Marjolein Bastin: pink and white dahlias, jasmine blossoms and a few small insects set inside a yellow border. The design is worked in counted cross stitch, with a handful of french knots and long stitches for antennae and fine details. The cotton and modal fabric is soft but stable and sits well in a hoop or frame.

This is a demanding piece, with many closely shaded tones, so some stitching experience and good light will help. The frame shown in the photo is not included: once finished, the embroidery can be professionally framed or mounted on a board to hang on the wall.
