A scene from another time: the girl, sitting among the folds of her blue dress, pulls the petals off a daisy to find out how love will turn out. The pale whites, blues and greens call for good light while you stitch, as the colour changes are many and subtle.
It is worked on counted linen, usually with one strand of stranded cotton over two threads for the cross stitch; back stitch and long stitch finish the outlines and the petals. A project for someone with a few pieces already behind them, comfortable following a chart with many shades. You will also need a hoop or frame and small scissors; the frame is not included, but the square format suits a pale mount well.
