A violinist caught mid-performance, eyes closed, long hair falling across her face and a dress shot with green and black standing out against a softly painted background. The design mixes full cross stitch with areas of half cross stitch and long stitches, used for the bow hair and the finest details, which gives depth to the shading of skin and fabric.
Evenweave is usually worked over two threads, with two strands of stranded cotton for the cross stitch and one for the details. A hoop or frame is not included: allow a margin of spare fabric all round for mounting, as this piece looks its best in a plain frame.
