A portrait of a horse in a country setting, printed in colour on Penelope canvas: you simply follow the design, with no counting involved. Penelope canvas is a double-thread canvas, so it can be worked in half cross stitch over the pairs of threads, or the pairs can be split for petit point where finer detail is wanted in the muzzle and mane.

Threads are not included: choose them separately, usually tapestry wool or cotton, matching the printed colours. A blunt tapestry needle is needed too, and a frame helps keep the canvas taut while stitching. The finished piece suits framing as a picture.
