Iris kit

A large purple and blue iris with a yellow beard, set within a frame of green acanthus scrolls on a black ground: a classic design intended for a square cushion, though it works just as well framed as a picture.

The canvas is sold without threads: to stitch it you will need tapestry wool or acrylic yarn in the printed colours, a tapestry needle and, to make up the cushion, backing fabric and a pad. Penelope canvas has double threads and is worked in diagonal stitches straight over the printed design, with no counting, so even a piece this size grows quickly.
