An open peony in pink and gold among acanthus leaves on a black ground: a design intended for a cushion front, though it works just as well framed as a decorative panel. The design is already printed in colour on the canvas, so there is no counting involved — you simply follow the printed areas, working one stitch over each intersection of the canvas.
The purchase is for the printed canvas only: threads, backing fabric and finishing materials are not included. You will need needlepoint yarns, in wool or acrylic, chosen to match the printed colours; to make up the cushion you will also need a pad, backing fabric and piping if you like. A frame keeps the canvas taut while stitching.
