Brie Burgundy is one of the Tilda basics: a tiny ditsy floral with pale, pink and blue flowers scattered over a warm burgundy ground. Because the print is so small and even, from a distance it reads almost as a textured solid – exactly the kind of fabric that gives larger prints room to breathe, in the small squares of a quilt, in borders, cushion backs and linings.
It also works nicely in creative sewing: doll clothes, hearts and hanging decorations, drawstring bags and pouches, where the pattern still reads well on small pieces. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. If you need the full width, choose one of the larger cuts.
