Brie Mustard is one of Tilda's basics: a small, evenly scattered ditsy print of tiny flowers on a warm mustard yellow ground. Prints on this scale are the ones you always reach for, because they fill the blocks of a quilt, the borders and the backing without competing with large-scale designs, and they still read well when cut into small pieces.
The mustard background sits happily next to the pinks, sage greens and blues of the Tilda collections, and it works just as well for small sewing: pouches, zipped cases, dolls, cushions and decorations. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. For long strips or whole backgrounds, choose one of the larger cuts.
