Esther Petrol

Esther Petrol belongs to Village Life, the Tilda collection that looks back to old wallpapers and pretty vintage dresses. The print is a carpet of soft-edged little flowers on a deep petrol green ground: a small-scale design that still reads clearly when cut into small pieces, and that works well as a darker background next to the lighter prints in the range.

It is an easy fabric for block quilts, borders, drawstring bags, pouches, linings and clothes for Tilda dolls. The dark ground gives depth to a project dominated by pastel shades. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; for long strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
