Mae Rust belongs to Village Life, the Tilda collection that looks back to old wallpapers and pretty vintage dresses, with an autumn palette of rust, ochre, greens and teal. This is a blender: the print is small and evenly spread, so it behaves well cut into squares, triangles and strips wherever you need a darker background that does not compete with the main blocks.
Beyond quilts it suits borders, cushion backs, pouches, bags and Tilda dolls and decorations, since the motif still reads clearly on small pieces. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. If you need long strips for borders or binding, choose one of the larger cuts.
