Poppy Seed Slate

Poppy Seed Slate is one of the Tilda basics: a slate blue-grey ground covered with minute white dots, like poppy seeds. From a distance it reads almost as a solid with a little movement in it, which is exactly what makes it so useful as a background for busier blocks, for borders, for a quilt back or the body of a cushion.

It sits happily next to the florals and prints of the Tilda collections, and works just as well in everyday sewing: bags, pouches, aprons, doll clothes. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew. If you need long strips or the backing for a larger project, choose one of the bigger cuts.
