Ruth Teal

Ruth Teal belongs to Village Life, the Tilda collection inspired by old wallpapers and pretty vintage dresses. The print is small and densely packed, with flowers in the teal of the autumn palette set against rust-coloured leaves: a pattern that still reads clearly when cut into small pieces, which makes it handy for quilt blocks, borders and little projects.

It works as a quiet background for the larger prints in the collection, and equally well on its own for linings, drawstring bags, pouches, cushions and doll clothes. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; if you need long strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
