Village Life is the Tilda collection inspired by cosy village living, with vintage-style prints that recall old wallpapers and pretty dresses: little houses, flowers, leaves and small all-over motifs, in an autumn palette of rust, ochre and greens alongside a cooler one of burgundy and blues. The roll comes tied with the Tilda ribbon and is a quick way to own the whole collection in strip form.
Cut selvedge to selvedge, the strips can be sewn side by side with no preliminary cutting: ideal for strip quilts, log cabin blocks and borders, as well as smaller makes such as cushion covers, baskets and bookmarks. To finish a quilt you will still need backing fabric, wadding and binding. Narrow strips are best not pre-washed, as they fray; allow for shrinkage once the piece is finished.
