Village Burgundy

Village Burgundy tells the small-town story behind the Village Life collection: little houses with awnings and balconies, blossoming trees, a fountain, a bench and a few dachshunds out for a walk, printed in pink, pale blue and cream on a deep burgundy ground. It belongs to the winter side of the collection, with its colder burgundy and blues.

The print runs as a continuous scene, so it works best in large pieces: a cushion back, bags, borders, or the centre of a quilt where it can be seen whole. It sits well with the coordinating small florals and with plain fabrics. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew.
