A tawny owl in brown and cream tones, shown among leaves against a black ground that sets off its warm plumage. Much of the dark fabric is left unstitched to create the night-time effect: when working on black Aida, good lighting helps, and a light-coloured cloth over your lap makes the holes easier to see.
The threads come already sorted on the organiser with their DMC numbers, so each shade is easy to find as you go. You will also want a hoop or frame and a small pair of scissors; once finished, the frame is not included and should be chosen separately to suit the tall format.
