Window & Flowers 1

A window opening onto a balcony overflowing with flowers, with ivy climbing the wall and a small lantern beside the frame: a compact, detailed design in greens, reds and yellows that works well on its own or grouped with other small pictures on the same theme.

The design is worked by counting stitches on evenweave fabric, usually over two threads with one or two strands depending on the coverage you prefer; the finer details ask for careful chart reading. The frame is not included: the finished piece can be framed or mounted in a small display hoop. An embroidery frame and a pair of fine scissors make the stitching easier.
