Description

A softly shaded portrait: the fairy's face and hair are built up from many close tones, framed by leaves, water lilies and a blue butterfly. Alongside cross stitch you will work half cross stitch for the lighter shading, back stitch for the outlines and a few french knots, which is why the manufacturer rates it as a demanding piece, best suited to stitchers with some counted work behind them.

The evenweave fabric is stitched over two threads and drapes softly, much like linen but more regular. Everything needed for the stitching is included, apart from a hoop or frame and scissors; the frame shown in the photo is not part of the kit either. Given the tall format, the finished piece looks well framed as a panel.
