Description

Marjolein Bastin's grape hyacinths, gathered in a Delft-style jug and surrounded by butterflies and a single feather: a springtime design in blues and greens with the soft shading of her watercolours. The chart mixes cross stitch, half cross stitch, long stitch and back stitch for outlines and antennae, so it suits anyone who has already finished a project or two.

The evenweave fabric is worked over two threads for an even, close-covering result; a hoop or frame helps keep it taut, and neither a frame nor the picture frame is included. Once finished, the piece looks its best mounted with a pale mount and framed.
