Description

A spring composition by Marjolein Bastin: pink and pale green hellebores, blue squills and, among the stems, a butterfly, a bumblebee and a snail. The soft shading and the number of colours make it a project for stitchers who already have some experience with counted cross stitch and want something substantial to work on.

On 30 count linen the stitching is usually worked over two threads with one strand of stranded cotton, for a fine, light result; two strands give fuller coverage. A frame is not included: once finished, the piece is best mounted by a framer or used as a decorative panel. A hoop or stretcher frame and good light are also worth having.
