A bunch of wildflowers with butterflies settling on them, drawn by Marjolein Bastin in her familiar nature-study style: the shading of the petals and the grasses in the background come from the wide colour range and from the long stitches that stretch out the blades.
The design is worked on evenweave, usually stitching over two threads with one or two strands of stranded cotton depending on the coverage you prefer. The threads come ready sorted on the organiser, so there is no sorting to do before you start. A hoop or frame and a sharp pair of embroidery scissors make the work easier; the frame shown is not included and is chosen once the stitching is done.
