Description

A kingfisher caught in flight, wings spread over orange and turquoise plumage against a background of lightly sketched leaves. The shading calls for careful colour changes, helped by the 54 DMC shades already sorted on the organiser supplied with the kit.

The evenweave fabric is usually worked over two threads; a hoop or frame keeps the weave taut and the stitches even. Alongside plain cross stitch you will use half cross stitch, long stitch and French knots, which add depth to the feathers and outlines. A frame is not included, so allow a few extra centimetres of fabric around the design for mounting.
