Description

A softly shaded portrait: the face of a young woman with a loose braid and a crown of pink, purple and yellow flowers framing her hair. The gradations in skin and petals come from frequent colour changes, so it helps to stitch in good light and follow the large-square chart, which makes it easier to keep your place.

The 12-thread linen is worked over two threads with one strand of stranded cotton, keeping the design light and luminous; a few French knots and long stitches finish the details of the face. All you need to add are a hoop or frame and small scissors, while the frame for display is chosen separately once the work is done.
