Madame Butterfly

A delicate portrait in watercolour browns, pinks and yellows: the woman's hair weaves into the butterflies and fades softly into the pale linen ground. The cross stitch is worked over counted threads, usually over two linen threads, while French knots and long stitches add the finer details of the face and the antennae.

The kit holds everything you need for the stitching itself; the frame is not included, and neither are a hoop and scissors, which are worth having to hand. Working on 30 count linen calls for careful counting, so this is a good choice if you have a few projects behind you and would like a sizeable picture to frame.
