Snow in the city

A snow-covered street at dusk: the lit lamp catches the bare branches while the windows of the Victorian houses glow further down the road. Cool blues and lilacs play against the warm lights, an effect you build up by following the full colour chart with symbols, clear enough for a first ambitious project.

Everything needed for the stitching is in the box, threads included; the frame is not supplied, nor are a hoop and scissors, both handy while you work. Aida 16 count has a fine weave: stitch with one or two strands of cotton for a crisp, detailed result. Once finished, it makes a picture for winter decorating.
