Spring Awakening: Vibrance

A tulip whose orange petals are shot through with yellow and purple, set against a deep blue background that makes the colours glow. The painterly effect is achieved with counted cross stitch alone, working through many closely related shades.

The kit provides fabric, threads and needle, but the chart is only viewed on a phone or tablet through the free Fantastitch app, with no paper version, so it is worth being comfortable with that way of stitching before buying. A hoop or frame makes the work easier to handle, and the finished piece will need a picture frame, which is not included.
