Topsy Turvy Blue

Topsy Turvy Blue belongs to Pie in the Sky, the collection in which Tone Finnanger celebrates daydreaming children and the imaginary worlds they build. The print is a dense tangle of flowering sprigs: little pink blooms, green and light blue leaves and tiny red berries standing out against a deep blue ground.

Because the scale is small and the repeat close, it works beautifully cut into small pieces: patchwork blocks, borders, bag and pouch linings, clothes for Tilda dolls. Next to solids and the larger prints of the same collection it makes a lively background without stealing the show. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew.
