A blue tit perches at a wooden birdhouse framed by ivy leaves and full pink roses, while a row of four small panels along the bottom shows chicks peeping out of their nest holes. The design is worked in counted cross stitch on linen, usually over two threads for well-formed stitches, with a few french knots and back stitch for the finer outlines.
All 44 shades come ready sorted on the thread organiser, so you can start straight away. A frame is not included: once finished, wash the work gently, press it face down and take it to a framer. A hoop or frame and a small pair of embroidery scissors make the stitching easier.
