A pond scene full of detail: open water lilies, frogs peering out from the leaves, blue damselflies and insects resting on the petals. The cross stitch is worked over two threads of evenweave, which gives a finer result than Aida and suits the soft, watercolour-like shading of the background; French knots and long stitches pick out stamens and antennae.
The threads come pre-sorted on the organiser, so you can start straight away. A hoop or frame and good light help with a piece of this size and with the many colour changes. The frame is not included: once washed and pressed on the wrong side, the finished embroidery looks well framed with a pale mount.
