Agnes Blue

Agnes Blue belongs to Village Life, the Tilda collection that echoes old wallpapers and pretty vintage dresses; this is the cooler colourway, with the blues and deep pink that Tone Finnanger suggests for winter. A floral stripe is a directional print, so it is worth planning the direction of the stripes when cutting: in quilt blocks they become part of the geometry.

It suits borders, cushion backs, little bags and doll clothes, and makes a calm background next to the larger prints in the same collection. For a quilt you will also need wadding, backing fabric and fabric for the binding. Washing the fabric before cutting keeps the shrinkage from showing up after you sew.
