Brie Heather is one of Tilda's basic cottons: a tiny repeating flower in pink and pale green on a dark purple ground, which from a distance reads almost as a single softly shaded colour. This is the kind of print you always need when working with large-scale designs, because it fills the gaps without competing with them.
Use it for quilt squares and triangles, for borders, cushion backs, bag and pouch linings, and for the clothes of fabric dolls. The close weave is also comfortable to stitch by hand. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting so the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; for long strips, choose one of the larger cuts.
