Chambray Sand

Chambray is woven with a coloured warp and a pale weft: close up you can see the two-tone weave, from a distance the fabric reads as a solid. This Sand shade is a warm beige with a faint pink cast, light and soft, handy wherever you need a quiet background that lets the prints do the talking.

It belongs to the Tilda Basics, made to sit alongside the printed collections: block backgrounds, borders, cushion backs, little bags, aprons and the bodies of Tilda dolls. It cuts and sews like any patchwork cotton. Pre-wash before cutting, as shrinkage can reach 5%; for long strips, choose one of the full-width cuts.
