Wildgarden Blue

Wildgarden Blue belongs to Jubilee, the collection Tilda put together for its 25th anniversary, gathering festive prints from earlier collections. Here flowering sprigs repeat densely over a blue ground: a medium-scale design that still reads well when cut into small squares, and that works nicely as a quilt background, for borders, cushions, pouches and bags.

The deep blue makes the lighter fabrics in the collection stand out, so even a small amount helps to add depth to a scrappy mix. Pre-wash the fabric before cutting, so that the slight shrinkage happens before you sew; if you need long strips or large pieces, choose one of the bigger cuts.
