Falcon

A lifelike falcon with pale, brown-speckled plumage and bright yellow feet gripping a moss-covered stump: a wildlife subject from the animal series, where the shading of the feathers is built up by changing colour often over small areas.

The design is worked in counted cross stitch following the large-square chart, which stays readable even in the busiest passages. The frame is not included: once finished, wash the work and press it from the back before having it framed. You will also need a hoop or frame and good lighting; given the height of the design, it helps to keep the fabric well tensioned as you go.
